The International Marathon of Casablanca is coming back for its 11th edition, on October 28th, 2018. The objective of this event is to highlight the city’s assets in a sports and citizen context. The holding of this edition is the result of an institutional partnership, of the Conseil of Casablanca with a set of partners, including the Wilaya of the region of Casablanca-Settat, the Council of the Region of Casablanca-Settat, the Prefectural Council of Casablanca , The Royal Moroccan Federation of Athletics through the Athletics League of Casablanca and the local development company, Casablanca Events & Animation.
This partnership reflects the strong desire to involve citizens, civil society, and volunteers in the success of this event and to make it a true celebration of sport. The city aims, through the values advocated by sport, to promote the notions of sharing, respect, tolerance, and better living together.
For its 11th edition, the International Marathon of Casablanca offers a rich program with a 100% urban course and a choice of four distances open to amateurs and professionals
1. The Marathon (42.195 Km): A course that allows runners to rediscover the city and its iconic tourist sites.
2. The Half Marathon (21.1km): A race designed for both beginner and seasoned runners.
3. The 10 km: This race, initiated in 2017, is reprogrammed this year to encourage novice riders and competitors accustomed to small distances.
4. Kids Run: A race reserved for children from 9 to 14 years, will be scheduled on Saturday, October 27 on a secure course.
New in 2018, the start and finish location of the races of this edition will be near the emblematic sports complex Mohammed V at Socrate Street. The “Village”, an unavoidable point of passage for all participants, will take up residence on the esplanade of the Mohammed V complex, near the start line.
The digital will be omnipresent in the communication around the 11th edition of the International Marathon of Casablanca. In fact, all the digital communication tools are implemented to facilitate access to information and to track the event day after day. The website (www.casablanca-marathon.com) offers to the users a wide range of information about the running of the Marathon, the new course and the refreshment points, with an online registration and payment platform. The mobile application “Casa Marathon” is a free download on smartphone; It is dedicated to participants, volunteers and supporters who will be able to have all the necessary information with a coaching program to better prepare them for the day.
In 2018, the city of Casablanca is preparing to host this federative event, inviting the inhabitants of the city to take part in celebrating and expressing their civic spirit in a sporting atmosphere with international resonance!
